Restorative Dentistry in Littleton, CO

For a Lifetime of Healthy Smiles

Your smile really matters. When it’s healthy, you feel more confident, you appear more successful to others, and you’re ready to make the most out of every first impression. Unfortunately, one out of four Americans over the age of 20 has untreated tooth decay according to the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research.

Along with physical trauma, tooth decay and gum disease are the major threats to your smile. These two bacterial infections attack your teeth and gums, wreaking havoc on your smile and making it difficult to eat and socialize with friends. When left untreated, these infections can even lead to the loss of teeth.

Restorative dentistry includes a variety of treatments and procedures designed to repair your smile after it’s been damaged by trauma or infection. At Designer Smiles of Colorado, Dr. Aleksanyan — known by our patients as Dr. Maggie — will repair your smile so it looks, feels, and functions like new.

Types of Restorative Procedures

Dental Fillings

Cavities, also known as dental caries, occur when bacteria penetrate your enamel, creating a hollow space in your tooth. If the cavity isn’t too large, Dr. Maggie will probably use a tooth-colored filling to completely restore your tooth.

Dr. Maggie typically performs this minor procedure in about 30 minutes to an hour. While filling one cavity only takes a single office visit, it might require additional appointments if you have more cavities.

Dental Implants

As soon as you lose a tooth, your smile (and your overall health) is adversely affected. While there are a number of treatments to restore a missing tooth, a dental implant is the only one that actively reverses the conditions that can lead to gum disease, jawbone depletion, and even additional tooth loss. And they’re custom-made to look just like your natural teeth, so friends and loved ones won’t even notice them.

Dental Bridges

If you have a gap in your smile caused by one or more missing teeth, Dr. Maggie might recommend a dental bridge. This restoration contains one or more natural-looking prosthetic teeth called pontics. A dental bridge is anchored to the natural teeth at each end of the gap. We can also make you a dental bridge that’s held in place with dental implants, providing outstanding stability.

Dentures

Today’s dentures are very strong and they look just like your natural teeth. At Designer Smiles of Colorado, we offer this fast, easy, and affordable solution for patients who want to restore any number of missing teeth. Dr. Maggie will take an impression of your mouth and use it to create a one-of-a-kind denture that will make your smile whole again. If you want a more comfortable option, we can use dental implants to secure the dentures to your jawbone.
