Professional Teeth Whitening Littleton, CO

Has Your Smile Lost its Sparkle?

At Designer Smiles of Colorado, Dr. Aleksanyan offers a wide variety of cosmetic treatments, including professional teeth whitening. Teeth whitening is an effective, low-cost way to restore the brightness of your smile by removing stains and discoloration.

It’s time to forget about the hassle of messy, low-quality drugstore remedies and trust your teeth whitening to us. Dr. Aleksanyan provides two kinds of whitening: take-home whitening kits and professional in-office whitening treatment from Kör™. Both of these options produce dramatic results that you won’t get with over-the-counter whitening products.

The easiest way to learn more about our professional whitening options is to contact our office at 303-703-4544. One of our friendly team members can answer any questions you have — and we’ll be happy to go ahead and schedule your consultation with Dr. Aleksanyan so she can go over all of your treatment options in greater detail.

Our Smile Whitening Options

At Designer Smiles of Colorado, our in-office whitening is a straightforward procedure that we complete in a single office visit after a brief bleaching process that you complete at home.

Before Dr. Aleksanyan begins your whitening treatment, she’ll examine your smile and discuss your medical history with you. These steps are crucial because conditions like gum disease and other dental problems can negatively impact the results of the whitening procedure.

Once Dr. Aleksanyan determines that your smile is ready for whitening, we can begin the procedure. The treatment starts when Dr. Aleksanyan places a device in your mouth that shields your lips and gums from the whitening gel.

From there, she’ll collect custom impressions to fabricate trays that precisely fit your smile. Over the course of the next two weeks, you’ll use those trays for over-night bleaching. After that, you’ll return to Designer Smiles of Colorado where we’ll apply a higher concentration of whitening gel directly to your teeth. The whole process typically takes about 60 to 90 minutes to complete.

For your convenience, we also feature take-home whitening trays. While the results aren’t as dramatic as our in-office whitening, your smile will still look much brighter than it would if you used over-the-counter whitening solutions.

Professional Whitening with Kör

Among whitening procedures, the Kör system is preferred by patients and dentists alike. Kör’s specially formulated gel works by restoring your teeth’s ability to absorb oxygen  — that’s how the oxygen from Kör gel gets deep into your teeth, dissolving stubborn stain molecules. In fact, Kör can get your teeth up to eight shades whiter in just one session.

Kör offers in-office whitening, take-home whitening kits, and a combination of the two options for patients with extreme conditions such as tetracycline-damaged teeth. You’ll really benefit from Kör’s advanced tray design that protects your gums by sealing in the whitening gel.

When Standard Whitening Treatments aren’t the Best Option

There are certain situations where regular teeth whitening might not be appropriate:

  • Age and pregnancy: Whitening is not recommended for pregnant women or for women who are lactating because it can adversely affect the child. Also, any patient under the age of 18 needs to check with Dr. Aleksanyan before beginning treatment — that‘s because a patient’s teeth need to be fully developed when they receive whitening treatment in order to prevent nerve damage.
  • Veneers, crowns, and other restorations: Crowns, veneers, and other prosthetic restorations are made from materials that aren’t affected by whitening. If you try to whiten restored teeth, they can appear blotchy or unevenly colored. That’s why we encourage our patients to whiten their smile before we repair it.
  • Extremely Dark Stains: Yellow-tinted teeth respond best to whitening. The darker the stain, the harder it will be to restore your smile to its original shade. Patients with dark stains can ask Dr. Aleksanyan if they would benefit from the Kör whitening system. Dr. Aleksanyan might recommend an alternative treatment such as veneers for restoring severely stained teeth.
